Grok by Elon Musk seems to be answering thousands of questions per second on Twitter / X. In depth and human in tone answers. 

I just edited the Wikipedia article on the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_singularity I added "In 2002 Mitchel Kapor bet Ray Kurzweil that "“By 2029 no computer - or "machine intelligence" - will have passed the Turing Test.” ^[20]

One could argue that Kapor has already lost the bet. In a 2025 Turing Test Open AI's Chat GPT-4.5 was identified as the human 73% of the time—significantly more often than the actual human participants. ^[21] ""

In May 2025 I was in Omaha with German investors and stock analysts who read and think, like I do. One person discussed IMCD and another said:

There is still a lot of mind blowing (human) stupidity and fear. Like the idea a very small climate change leads to food shortages whilst CO2, humidity and warmth increase (greenhouse effect). People have the idea the climate has never changed. 

 In my perception the Covid lockdowns were also incredibly dumb...

Also myths abound. People are talking to bots consciously or unconsciously (via social media). 

There is more than 1 superintelligence. They don't sleep and they aren't like people with a certain agency. They are incredibly fast and well read. "Woke" politically correct AI led to Nazi's being portrayed as black and AI's refusing to say anything positive about Donald Trump on one hand. On the other hand Elon Musk's Grok AI calling itself "MechaHitler". 

Short video can now be fake and impersonate people. LinkedIn uses passports to verify people because Captcha's no longer work. 

People are living in bubbles of different realities and values. 

One of the ideas of Kurzweil, that you could live forever by downloading your personality is not discussed. On the other hand you can now "talk" with Socrates, Einstein etc.

The speed of development is now fast. Models are trained, have weights and then think and reason (inference). The weights will soon be able to change. 

Elon Musk and GROK is working on AI interacting with physical reality: first principles. Meanwhile people in Malawi are starving / malnourished and children I know are cooking on wood in Uganda. Forms are still filled in by hand and gets stamps.  

Churches like the Nicolaas Cathedraal in Amsterdam are fuller on Sundays and people are organizing "off grid" spaces. 

My own reading and concentration are getting worse, but through writing like this I can workout my brain with cognitive load. Also reading longform books.
