to the in depth Auctionbytes story.

"After four years and 100,000 items sold, Auctioning4u has canvassed its customer base and is reflecting the findings...the company has decided to concentrate on and grow the already bustling home collection arm of the business and close its drop-off shops, in order to provide existing and new customers with a bigger and better service."

The focus is now on home pick-up and mail in. Auctioning4u says that this has to do with customer preferences.
"Our proposition really comes into its own when customers are moving house, have an inheritance, or just want to clear our their old
possessions. Our ability to process and sell a wide variety of items collected from consumers’ homes is unique in the UK.”

On the other hand the closures of all the stores, many of which were bought from other eBay UK Drop-Off chains which went bust, is just another signal of the end of this model.

"All our shops will close on Wednesday 25th July, but until then you can still use them to drop off all your items as normal.
