eBay local & offline: "because who wants to pay for shipping ?"

New eBay Feature Encourages Local Marketing

eBay launched a new feature that lets sellers create flyers they can print out and post in "real world" settings. Sellers can enter their Item number into the eBay Flyer form, and the feature creates a printable flyer pre-filled with information describing the item. The flyer contains compact URLs of their listings at the bottom of the form that sellers can use as tear-strips. example Here

Interested passers-by who read the flyers can remove the tear-strip containing the URL, and when they return to their computers, can enter the URL into their browser to go directly to the seller's item on eBay.

eBay's announcement of the feature describes it as "Best for large, awkward or locale-specific items because who wants to pay shipping?"
